  5. Here it's a big NO NO to lie near, beside or heaven forbid, on a grave. But I get the feeling why the woman posed like that.

    She is praying + talking + crying.

    Historically the vast majority of fallen soldiers were men but things are changing. I don't know the numbers but more women are losing their lives too. Husband, wife, son, daughter, dad or mom a family member lost has a terrible impact on a family. Our family has had service members but so far we have been spared that pain.
