The new nagging one
Who opened the door
To my heart and let it in

Upon my unsuspecting soul

Not letting anyone in
Keeping everyone away
A safe distance from me
Even my children mourn
That I would erect my wall
They knew beyond a doubt
I loved them to my maximum
With me for a mother
They were safe and nurtured
Something I did not have
But was natural for me to give
Was it stealth that let you in
Did you see my hidden need
How did you hear my cries
That were hidden even from me
Bless you, my dearest love
Thank you for being aware
I stand before you exposed
Gladly, joyfully give you my trust.

This is beautiful, it is wonderful when we can give that, and get it back. These words were looking in my soul, except for the children part. enjoy your day. I put up a birdfeeder like yours today. will see what happens.

I remember hearing about trust when I was younger and inexperienced in life, but now I truly see how important, even crucial, it is. This was nice...

ReplyDeleteI took strange comfort from the phrase that it was natural for you to give safety and nurture to your children, although you never had it. This was my story too, and I've always wondered if perhaps I only imagined that it was natural for me to love my children, for how could I when I had never experienced it? But you have cleared that up as this is the first place I have ever seen that addressed and answered. Thank you. You are beautiful.
Beautiful post. Trust sounds easy but it's never as easy to give as it sounds. Congrats to you that you have found someone to gift it to.
