Polishing My Toenails

Okay, time to give myself a pedicure.
Sounds easy, right?
Not so.

Removing the old polish takes time
and some flexibility.
Whew, the first part accomplished.

Now comes the hard part.
Can't see my toes well enough,
must wear reading glasses.

The first coat of clear is okay.
Let dry; apply one coat of color.
Today's color is pumpkin for the season.

Not too much polish on the skin.
That's a good thing.
Almost dry.

The second coat of color is crucial.
Want it to look like a professional pedicure.
Clean up the overspray with Q-tip.

A final coat of clear, my dear.
Twisted back and headache later.
So worth it.

The right foot was still in her mouth.

  6. I hope you remembered the toe separator?
I kept meaning to do my toenails all summer. Now it's too late and my feet are back in woolly socks.

  7. I had to laugh at this because I can defintiely say "been there, done that" with each step, including the reading glasses.

  8. Do you also give yourself manicures? Great job, TB! I never put polish anywhere, feet or hands, but your finished job looks just great.

  9. Looks pretty. I really should take the time to do this. The only time I have polish on my toes is when my granddaughter comes to visit me and she gives me a pedicure...isn't that sweet? :)

  10. Looks like you did a fabulous job! Is it hard to walk with one foot inserted in mouth? ;)

  11. I want orange toenails! I like you couldn't see to do it properly and I never should my feet to anyone! Well that may a bit of an overstatement but really they are not beautiful like yours.

  12. I'm not one who usually does the nail polishing thing -hands or feet. Truth be told, both Mandy and I have issues, so to speak, with nail polish on our fingernails as neither of us can stand it and within minutes of applying it, we are picking at it, trying to peel it off. (Both of us feel like there is a big weight on our fingers from the polish.) But a pedicure -hmmmm -I'd never bothered with anything like that but this summer, one day, I allowed Maya to paint my toenails. She had so much fun doing my nails in a "pattern" (as she called it when she did every other nail in a different color) and it actually lasted quite a long time too. I can't do that myself as I can't bend over and reach some of the nails there but it was fun to let her play and experiment a bit even if some of her painting wasn't completely "Within the lines" ya know!

I just wanted to let you know I'm back from Brownsville from spendin' time with my Daddy who lost his almost three decade battle with leukemia last Wed. evening. I've been MIA in the Blog world.

Ya'll have a magnificently bless weekend sweetie!!!

But haven't ever come across pumpkin toes... guess there's a first time for everything. Although it's a hard story, I really liked your piece just below about your daughter. Wow ! That school sounds like bad news.
