  1. All great things to avoid. aspertaine is one of the worst things dear lord.
I hope you are adjusting to your new place. wonderful list. One thing I avoid is running out of toilet tissue, I am kind of a freak that way. lol. be well.

  2. We were advised by an educational therapist that our older daughter should avoid Aspartame. They said it was actually killing off her brain cells. We cut as much of it out of her diet as soon as possible and the difference it made to her personality was unbelievable! Now she's 16 it's hard to control all the stuff she eats and drinks, but I can immediately tell when she's had something with Aspartame in it!

  3. Well that was nice. I read everything all the way back to the post on Botox. I love your nice, relaxing bathtub. Glad the move went well. We moved our old stove/oven onto the front step this afternoon. It will be awhile before the new one arrives, as so the electric frying pan gets more use. :)

    Back later if I do!

  5. Hi Cinner, you must be feeling better today to be up so early. Toilet tissue is a good one.

LL Cool Joe, I know what you are talking about. I was losing my hair, fuzzy headed, dizzy, pain, and all of it is gone now. And my hair grew back.

Steadfast Ahoy, I use electric fry pan often. On low setting and longer time. Not like the crock pot but the frying pan is great for tender dishes.

Rock Chef, thanks for taking time from your assignment work to visit.

Betty, yes I know you like shopping. For some reason I have never enjoyed it. Maybe the poverty growing up. But even a few times as an adult I had money and still did not like shopping.

  6. I love it!
Soe things are just too bad and need to be avoided.
They are BEGGING to be avoided!
*on a personal note, I do use splenda, and I never really liked the idea of it.....just the reality of the results!*
Hope your new place is shaping up to be a cute litte Hippie Pad!

  7. I know, I cut off the caffeine flow between 12-1 :)

  8. That's a good list. I still don't use refined sugar. Will have to read more about aspartame.

  9. That's a great list. I cut caffeine off at 3:00pm and I take statins, otherwise I could have written that list. I have familial hycholesterolemia. Every single one of us take them, as my parents died of it in their sixties.

  10. A fine list. I used to love my diet coke.. several times a day for years. I never connected it to any woes until out of desperation, I decided to cut it out and see if it had any affect on the connective tissue pain I was experiencing for about a year. It took about 3 or 4 months without when I realized I no longer ached. Coincidentally, that was the last time I lost handfuls of hair for a few weeks at a time, twice a year. The stuff is evil.

  11. Oh, cripes. Not the diet coke too? I do so get tired of hearing the things I'm supposed to cut out. I read your linked post. I'm sure you're right, of course, but still. I think it was W.C. Fields who said:

When I read about the evils of drinking, I had to give up reading.

Or maybe it was Mark Twain? I forget. Either way, I'm sort of reaching that point. Heh, heh/

  12. Your list is a good one and we would all benefit by following it completely. I can't say I'm quite 100%.

  13. I smiled at the french fries. There has to be exceptions to every rule :)

    I loved your list.

  14. Very interesting.
You know I have friends and relatives that swear by honey and cinnamon to lower their cholesterol (and after a few weeks of using them their cholesterol was lower!). I had never heard that cholesterol medication can cause forgetfulness.

I have a horrible diet and I drive my husband to the point of insanity because he watches everything he eats and he's the one with the cholesterol problem, and my doctor just told me "Your blood work is beautiful! Your cholesterol levels are perfect!"
    Go figure.

I like your list and I do notice when I stay on my 'Greek yogurt' diet I feel healthier and happier, so diet definitely plays a big role in our bodies and minds, but I do not think I will ever be able to give up coffee again in my life (I was off it for eight years!).

I used to LOVE shopping, now not so much. There's a lot of things I used to have a great interest in that no longer hold any interest for me at all. And how many clothes can fit in the closets and drawers anyway? And the house can only hold so much "stuff".

Now avoiding certain people would definitely be a positive in my life, but that is hard to do when it is family, and the holidays are fast approaching! (hee-hee)
    All the best,
    Eileen

  15. I'm with you on al except the statin of which I take the lowest dose because stroke and heart disease run in my family. Stroke killed both my parents and a heart attack nearly did in my sister.

I do like fried foods though I don't eat them often. that said I had chicken fried steak and french fries for dinner last night. YUM!

    ReplyDelete
  16. HA! Knew you could not avoid FRENCH FRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. I always feel time spent shopping could be better spent enjoying the great outdoors. And speaking of small print and food, I won't buy anything to eat that contains a long paragraph of ingredients. Nothing good seems to come of adding more when it comes to food. I've gone without TV for so long that when I do get a glimpse of it somewhere, I'm actually shocked! Great list.

  18. You have a lot of willpower! I avoid avoiding most of these.

  19. sounds like some good things to avoid in th pursuit of a happy life...

  20. I avoid caffeine but usually after dinner. I couldn't go all afternoon without it! I should avoid aspartame. I really should.

  21. Whoops. I looked that quotation up: Henny Youngman, though I bet the other two would have agreed in sentiment.

Of course, I guarantee this one from old W.C.:

Who stole the cork to my lunch?

  22. Unkind people :(

    That would be me. *sigh*

    Oh well, cannot help it.

  23. I would say that I avoid these things too except that there might be a few other deep fat fried foods I enjoy every now and then(such as onion rings or wantons :)and there are a couple of show I do like on the TV. Happy weekend to you and yours!

PS Everytime I visit you now I think about you and that awesome bathtub you have. :)

  24. I knew we agree on a number of things. avoid shopping check
    - dishonest unkind people who looks for those? avoid crowds check - avoid debt check

extremely small print - that's easy because I can't see it anyway

    all the best

  25. That seems a great list of things to avoid.
Some of them require will power!

  27. I Love It and I adore You! <3

  28. Good for you but I wish I could do as well. I'm pretty good with white bread, wasting food, debt, crowds and shopping. Not so good with statins (doctors' orders), deep fried food, caffeine any time, sugar substitutes (again, doctors' orders)and television.

  29. Great post, Kid! I too try to avoid a goodly number of those things -in particular the darned debt. However, it seems to be permanently attached to me. About the time I think I am getting straight, here it comes again! This time in the form of what appears to be never ending doctor and hospital bills! ARRGH! Now's when I really could use that winning lottery ticket I tell my kids I want for Christmas, every birthday, any other gift-giving occasion there is too!

  30. Hi, Technobabe. Your list is great. I probably avoid most of the things on it, except for fried foods, caffeine and Aspartame. I do need to start taking better care of myself. I'm actually the world's worst with junk food like candy (I still think I'm twelve). Then I get migraines and whine because I have migraines. It's probably my own fault. Thank you so much for the information!

  31. French Fries are ALWAYS the exception :-)
    Happy weekend, jj

  32. I love your list. Brilliant.

  33. Great list of no, nos.
Caffeine after 2pm. Now that's discipline for you! I could never do that.

I also avoid where I can:
    Flying plates
    Flying knives
    Trouble
    Arguments

Otherwise a nice quiet life!! LOL
    See ya ~ Eddie

and debt....us too. we don't owe anybody anything and haven't for years....not even a mortgage :)

  35. I am so with you. A brilliant list, Techno.
