Aren't these beautiful pens? They are handmade, hand turned, with love. These pens are made from wood in Africa.
My real name is on my pen so I turned it over and sweet hubby substituted TechnoBabe on the photo.
The pen for James has pewter parts and my pen is gold color. And mine is a little smaller to fit my dainty hand.
The man who made them has been married to my foster sister for about 45 years. I was in the wedding party and they have treated me like a blood sister all these years.
This isn't the first gift from them made in his wood shop. One time he made my name out of wood, kept it natural wood, and it was quite large. My name is pretty cool so the wooden plaque looked awesome. There have been many Christmas ornaments and designs and angels too.
I think the pens are for a special occasion for my birthday.
They are gorgeous! I would want to guy an expensive writing book to use them in - can't use pens like that on cheap paper!

They look lovely. I like pens shaped like that, and that was very smart of Hubby to hide your real name like that. I love handmade things that are so elegant and irreplaceable, like these pens.

ReplyDeleteWe get such pens here in Germany too, but am not sure whether they are hand made. They make for a very nice gift.
Those pens are really awesome! Don't you just love when you do have a really nice, good pen -and especially if it is personalized with your name on it too -that makes you feel very special when you use it? My older daughter, back when I was in college, gave me a really nice, good pen -with my name engraved on it too -for Christmas one year and somehow, it made note-taking seem a lot friendlier knowing that pen I was using was MINE and had a special meaning behind how it came to be mine too -from my beautiful older daughter!
