I agree, I have great ideas and then just seem to not see them through. I always expect to fail I think, so I talk myself out of having a go. Very stupid really.
Thanks for your note on my blog. Your companionship out here in blogland has meant a lot to me, and your blog has always been a favorite place for me to visit. I hope we can keep in touch in the "real world." Hugs.
So true! And it amazes me how many ideas come from surprising sources! But so many times I do let them fall by the wayside. I'm trying to change that, and I'm trying to recognize and act upon opportunities that present themselves.
I've been trying to catch up here on all I've missed ! I love KD Lang, especially love 'Constant Craving'! (But sadly, I couldn't get the video to launch). And I loved the moon post! Amazing photo, and I loved the poem too.
'Hope you enjoyed a Blessed Easter! All the best, Eileen
That's so true. I guess fear of failing is tough for everyone. I once watched an interview of Arianna Huffington and she said, "If you're not effing up, you're not doing anything interesting!"
One idea is that those incandescent light bulbs will need to be replaced with Compact Florescent bulbs soon. Since CF bulbs take up to five minutes to "warm up" and get to full brilliance, I wonder if our ideas will need to warm up slowly now too?
My windows are pretty much boarded up and sealed.
ReplyDeleteHow so appropriately true and timely for me. Thank you Technobabe.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. A ghost of an idea, very often, but ghosts, too, can be caught.
ReplyDeletetrue that...chase those ideas...
ReplyDeleteDANG, takes COURAGE! And coffee.
ReplyDeleteA very good thought for me to hear today....both in pursuing the idea and not giving up.

ReplyDeleteSo very true. That is what happened to me twenty years ago when I wanted to become a skydiver at 47. I told myself I was too old, too...
ReplyDeleteBut I did it anyway and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me.
I hate to think how many opportunities I let slip away due to my own hesitation.
ReplyDeleteSo true!

Very true, TechnoBabe. I always remind myself that my time on earth is finite - it helps propel me when I hestitate.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you have to have the idea first. Lately, most of mine have been along the lines of "Hm. Really should do some laundry soon..."
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll seize on that one right now ;-)

I'm afraid this happens to me far too often!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. This is the way I think of my blog.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but there's the joy of naps to be considered :-)

ReplyDeleteIdeas are dreams and we can't give up on them even if they seem impossible. Nothing is impossible these days. :)
ReplyDeleteI am really working on keeping the curtain fully open. I like everyone else deserve to have a rich and full life.
ReplyDeleteI do that at least 75% of the time. Bad girl!
ReplyDeleteLoved your lines...
ReplyDelete"We might have to try again and again to succeed but what bliss when we do."

ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, if you never try anything you can never fail, and yet you can still have ice cream. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteNow this was a great reminder!

It is making my day better : )
This is so very true. I'm kinda like a dog with a bone when it comes to most things. Ya know stubborn...do or die!!! Heeehehe!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya and have a stupendous day!!!
It is heart-breaking to realize how many things we skip out on because of fear. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteOne of my strong suits is not giving up. I am a persistent person.
