Fourth Of July Parade

The high school marching band is playing
The clowns toss wrapped candy to the kids
Families and their pets walk along the side
Downtown has decorated its digs

Flags are flying and spirits are high
All ages celebrate together this way
In remembrance of a freedom won
Back on the first Independence Day.

    smiles. i wish we had nice parades...when we lived in NC our small town had the best 4th of july parade....

    I like calling it "Independence Day" too - helps us remember. I'm glad patriotism is still alive - glad we still do parades and fireworks in a sometimes jaded world. :-)
