That's too funny. In our town we have a bronze statue of a Labrador sitting on the sidewalk in front of a food dish. Picture here. People actually put dog food in the dish... well, 'real' dogs come by and help themselves.
Oh that's hilarious. When Benny was younger, there were a couple of similar statues that got him going. He wouldn't want to play though.. he'd just bark at them. One was a statue of St. Francis and the other of a seated boy fishing the lake. Both are on a property neighbouring Frank's family cottage. He's outgrown it since. Thanks for sharing this. :)

Maybe the dog was just trying to get other people to feel sorry for him so they would come and throw the stick.
