Where is it
Have you seen it
When did you have it last
Did you look in the drawer
I'll help you look for it
Can you use something else
Only if we can't find it
Why do you need it right now
Can this wait until tomorrow
No, I'm in the middle of something
This is a typical day in the little hippie house. We take turns losing things and then we both spend time looking for them. Good thing we don't have anything else to do. Ha.

I think it's amazing that nobody in your home has Alzheimer's because that sounds a lot like what goes on here, in MY house, every day.
I find I spend a great deal of my time trying to find things I've put somewhere but can't remember where! The joys of getting older.
.....sounds familiar!
smiles. but you look for it together so that is not a bad thing right?
My hippie sister prays to Saint Anthony to help her find things.
Then one day, she lost her St Anthony medallion.
Now what?
Bless her little heart, she finally found it!
Made me smile... my parents do this sometimes...
lol! I've had that conversation so many times with everyone in the house. This had me laughing this morning. Thanks, TechnoBabe!
Oh, and I once couldn't find my glasses and they were on my head - lol!
The image you created in my mind with this made me smile....with Doc it is always his glasses.
Around this place, something or other is always getting lost, tossed out by mistake (really hate when that happens) or something or other that causes minor sometimes a major bit of panic. Which in turn often causes the dining room and kitchen to continue looking like a pig sty because I never know what I dare to toss in the trash and daughter here doesn't like to look for the trash can (or so it seems to me at times.) Not that I'm not a packrat or anything to begin with though cause I am but still, when I try to get rid of things and have the impetus to do that, I wish I could just completely follow through then instead of having to stop mid-stream ya know. ARRGH!
Isn't this just the way it's supposed to be? I've never found it to be different, except that now that I'm older it happens more often. The worst is when I decide to put something in a special place so I can find it again, and then forget where. :-)
So funny and so true. It puzzles me that I can remember where I put things in a house, now nonexistent, where I grew up sixty years ago, but not where I put something last week in my present house. I must be losing my mind--last in, first out.
I spend a great deal of my time finding things . . . for my husband!
Sounds very familiar - I lose things, the kids lose things, Mrs RC finds them.
We say all of that at our house. And I will add the following which I know does not happen at yours: the TV is too loud!!!
(re: your question about towns, I am not sure! Sorry! I just know-knew Lincoln :)
I found it... wait a moment... no I didn't
I'm usually looking for the remote.
It's a little different for me. It's the hereafter - walk into a room and what is it I'm here after.
LOL...sounds like my daughters here...mostly my youngest...
Ah. This is so familiar. remembering passwords is a really tricky one. We seemt o need more and more of them.
Partnership!
My house, too. I'm starting to believe that we need less stuff. Less stuff means less stuff to lose or misplace, and more free time with less frustration.
I know the feeling well.

Nuts in May
I have become convinced that the ONLY way to locate a lost item is to purchase a new replacement. The old one shows up usually within a day.
This is so typical of our little hippie house to, they seem to get more and more frequent,,,why do we suddenly need something we have not seen for years, and when we find it,,,,,then where did you put it...I am seriously thinking about labeling things, but then I will lose the labels, what was the question.....
sometimes, i feel like it's my head i'm looking for!! :-)
One day I chose to abstain from this game. He who loses, looks (or not). I practice serenity through indifference.
I shuffle and move things from place to place in the house and never remember where I moved it. I know what you're talking about here!
It sounds considerable and reasonable to me. I wish more parents had the time and resources to deal with their children in such a thoughtful manner. I'm glad you have found your way there and have patience and sweetness for the mundane day-to-day. It's an art.
Sounds like my house!!!! ROFL!!!! Love it!!!! Thanks for admitting this...I feel SOO much better :-)))) BTW, love the new look to your blog!!!! AWESOME!!! ~Janine XO
We did that today. I was trying to find something and could not remember where I last saw it. I knew that it was here, so I finally said....How important is it? Not very and let it go.
This happens at my house too. I swear that someone must move things on purpose just to hear me rant and walk around looking confused. At least the 2 of you are looking for the missing things together. :) I hope you two have a marvelous weekend doing something you enjoy. XX
I almost never lose anything, but the men.....oh yeah. They are experts at it!
When you finish find yours and James' stuff, would you come over to my house and help me find my stuff too :-)
I lost things all the time!
Happy weekend Techno.

In my house it's more like my husband asks me where something is and I tell him it's in the same place it always is.
I've lost a $600 car key, checks, socks etc and I'm the ONLY adult in the house with ONE kid. Oh and did I mention a cell phone and a strapless bra? Don't ask
As I live alone, if I lose anything, it stays lost! Until it decides to show up again, of course... LOL :)
I had a saying "it'll turn up". Davy hated it!
Oh sounds just like my house, me and two teenage boys...
In my house, it's my job to know where everything is. I hate that, but I daresay I'm good at it.
"What, you can't find something? Ask the grouchy guy in the kitchen where it is."
My recent personal best: remembering where my wife left the key to her bicycle lock 5 years ago.
It was someplace safe. Oy.
Your little hippie house sounds like a delight to me.
