Beth, at Be Yourself, Everyone Else Is Taken, posted this video. I cried for a very long time. I have very strong feelings about Iraq. Please watch this video.
What an amazing woman! Tragic story. I hope he does well. I think his voice is pleasant but not great, but I think his determination and bravery is amazing!
His voice may not have been the absolute top-notch but his attitude, smile, charm and delivery of the song itself -magnificent! Made you feel the song, the lyrics, made you smile and tear up too!
I've always thought that the stories these contestants share are the most poignant part of these kind of programs, not that I'm a huge fan of them though (American Idol types).
Just before I read this post I read the account from our US Republican debates where, when candidate Ron Paul was asked what should be done if a hypothetical patient in a coma has no health insurance. The Tea Party sponsored audience shouted "let him die"!
This young man you have showcased today, with the beautiful voice and the compelling trials he has overcome, is just useless garbage to the most conservative factions of the GOP. These selfish "patriots" would sooner rid themselves of someone such as this. I would hang my head in shame to be a member of the GOP.
I like to believe that if there is an "angel smile"...that his would be it. What a wonderful, brave, sweet young man. And his mother is an angel on earth. Wow...I still have a lump in my throat after this...
Hi TechnoBabe, just wanted to answer your question before I forget. I did lay on the ground for the bird pictures. Stuck the lens right in the grass, used a very low aperture number, and manually focused on the birds.
Oh, my heavens. I've cried a bucket of tears this morning and am filled with some warm, soft feeling that may be love. Incredible story. Thank you for sharing.

I blubbed all the way through this. It's so humbling to see such an incredible young man. I truly hope things work out for him.

Missed this on Beth's somehow. So talented and brave - I think he got it from his 'mum'!!

Holy... I'm sitting here in work with moisture running down my face. God bless him (and his wonderful family, too.)
