There used to be four banks in this city. Many years ago they closed and the current bank moved to this little city. This week they celebrated the 120th birthday and invited everyone to come and celebrate with them in the bank parking lot. Hubby and I did just that. We ate hot dogs, chips, cupcakes, drinks and chatted with some of the nice people who work at the bank. A few of them graciously gave permission for me to add their picture to my blog.

That's a big cupcake!
happy 120th birthday. that is a long time.
I think that I should put this idea to my local banks. I think they might just tell me to "bog" off though!
Nice to see a local bank still operating after 120 years! We had one here that had to shut down during the recession after 100+ yrs.
wow, big cupcake...did each guest get one of their own...smiles. oh what a tummy ache that would be..lol. it is nice to see the bank engaging the community though...
I just love small town events like this.
What a cupcake!!!
Sounds like a fun party!
i remember picnicking with my grandparents at the platte river.
Sounds like a fun time for everyone.
plus i'd walk a mile for a good cupcake.
How fun!! With so many banks being bought out, how wonderful that yours has been around 120 years, wow!!
There are definitely some benefits to being a small town these days. Happy birthday! 120 years is HUGE!
That is so cool. I am convinced that if banks were small local entities like your little bank, they would not be so inclined to be such negative social entities. When your bankers are your friends and neighbors and look you in the face daily, they can't but help treat you just as they would like to be treated. Well, that's my humble opinion anyway. Looks like a great place to put down roots!
What a great celebration, and something that would only happen in the States! Well ok maybe not but it wouldn't happen in the UK.
Looks like it was a nice event. Banks (certainly big ones) are not well liked anymore. Actually I don't know if they ever were that well liked.
It's impressive when a business makes it that long. They must be doing something right.
Those little community gatherings are nice. I went to one last week in TinyTown (and the cell phone company). Gotta love free hotdogs!
Very fun! It's great to get a free lunch, and even better when it comes from your bank.
When I was younger I used to smoke a lot of dope and could probably have eaten that entire cupcake myself.

Very nice!
What a fun way to celebrate with the community!
That's one big cupcake. I can only imagine the sprinkles. ;)
Glad they survived!
Sundays in my town are not interesting at all...
Looks like it was a beautiful day to celebrate! And nice to see some banks can stay the distance.
Good fun!
Small town celebrations are so much fun, but even better when the business has been around for over 100 yrs. Cool!
Nice. I like that small town atmosphere.
You are making me fall in love with where you live.
