Oh no, never wash it!
Use it as often as you want
In fact, the more you use it
The better it performs
It is a perfect fit
When you hold it in your hand
It gets too hot to touch
When the temperature rises
After each use
Clean it with some oil
Keep it handy for quick use
If a prowler intrudes
Take a wide swing
And knock him on the head!
It's a girl's best friend
The cast iron frying pan!

Girl! You had me going there for a minute. Great fun and good job on keeping the answer to the riddle until the end.
HA! Just read Brian's second comment. He's a quick young thing, isn't he?
It's how the West was won by the women folk.

The old cast iron pans were the best..even for cooking..LOL
Hey I'm looking for some word suggestions if you have any extras.
thanks
Nothing like a good multi-use utensil.....and there's nothing like how clever you are with words. Brian's pretty good, too.
I don't even know where I got my frying pans, they've been with me so long.
I'm such a pushover, I saw the picture and thought you were talking about a rope!
Of course everyone was taken by surprise until they saw the cast-iron frying pan! You are quite the poet!
Perfect...
I have a set of these that I treasure. You are so right about just oiling them keeps them in good shape.
Thank goodness this was not another quiz (Smiling...)
PS Good one, Brian Miller!
i have yet to find the perfect cast iron pan. love this little poem!

what fun!! :-)
lol...enjoyable. i knew a frying pan had to be good for something!
smiles,
So true. All the teflon and stainless steel in the world will never measure up to a well seasoned, cast-iron skillet!
That's funny! I thought you were describing the lasso in the picture!
Now that was cute, funny and quite refreshing to read!
Heeeheeehe! I thought you were talkin' about the lasso and wham out of nowhere I get smacked with a 'fryin pan'!!!! Great post!
Have a fun day and a wonderfully blessed weekend!!!
I actually had a patient once who conked her husband on the head with a cast iron pan. I'm not sure how she didn't kill him.
Yep, I woulda said lassoo :))
This was really cute! :) It's a girls best friend if you know how to use it wisely! lol
I had a feeling... LOL! Cast iron... ouch!
Well I'm not admitting where my head was at!!
My mother is a firm believer in the power of the cast iron frying pan!!
Still have the one my husband got from his mom when we first got married. I wonder how old it is?
My nana would on occasion sleep with a cast iron pan and salt next to her. She said she would blind intruders with the salt and then hit them over the head with a frying pan.
I LOVE my cast iron skillets. I got rid of my teflon stuff and won't buy anymore. Haven't used them to clunk any heads, but my boys are making me reconsider that.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your comments, so insightful and fun. Hope you're staying warm. Temps dropped for us today. Brrrr.
I just wanted to thank you for visitin' and hoppin' on my blog. I sure hope ya'll enjoy the ride.
In the words of old Granny Clampett,
"Ya'll come back now, ya hear!!!"
Ha ha ha. I love this! Thanks for the lift!
Can't live without one!
This was great, brought a big smile! The photo was priceless as well! Have a wonderful week.
LOL..am reminded of the scene in Chocolat where Lena Olin hits her husband on the head with the frying pan when he's trying to kill Juliet Binochet and she looks at him laying there unconscious, looks at the pan and says "Who says I don't know how to use a skillet?" And they both go into hysterics.
Hey you--I've got an award for you over at EB...
HA! True dat!
LOL! Love it! And yes, I do love my cast iron frying pan... ;)
Awesome. It made me laugh, and I love the picture, too!
