Polishing My Toenails

Okay, time to give myself a pedicure.
Sounds easy, right?
Not so.

Removing the old polish takes time
and some flexibility.
Whew, the first part accomplished.

Now comes the hard part.
Can't see my toes well enough,
must wear reading glasses.

The first coat of clear is okay.
Let dry; apply one coat of color.
Today's color is pumpkin for the season.

Not too much polish on the skin.
That's a good thing.
Almost dry.

The second coat of color is crucial.
Want it to look like a professional pedicure.
Clean up the overspray with Q-tip.

A final coat of clear, my dear.
Twisted back and headache later.
So worth it.

The right foot was still in her mouth.

:) This is cute...Yea men never realize what all we go through to look good...Its a lot of work, but well worth the results. I do french manicures on my toes, that is so much extra work but I look the final look...

they look wonderful...kinda glad us guys dont do that...but...i am glad you ladies do...smiles.

Luckily pedicures are so cheap here, I can have one "done" be a professional every 2 weeks. Much easier on the neck... :)

I hope you remembered the toe separator?
I kept meaning to do my toenails all summer. Now it's too late and my feet are back in woolly socks.

I had to laugh at this because I can defintiely say "been there, done that" with each step, including the reading glasses.

Do you also give yourself manicures? Great job, TB! I never put polish anywhere, feet or hands, but your finished job looks just great.

Looks pretty. I really should take the time to do this. The only time I have polish on my toes is when my granddaughter comes to visit me and she gives me a pedicure...isn't that sweet? :)

Looks like you did a fabulous job! Is it hard to walk with one foot inserted in mouth? ;)

I want orange toenails! I like you couldn't see to do it properly and I never should my feet to anyone! Well that may a bit of an overstatement but really they are not beautiful like yours.

I'm not one who usually does the nail polishing thing -hands or feet. Truth be told, both Mandy and I have issues, so to speak, with nail polish on our fingernails as neither of us can stand it and within minutes of applying it, we are picking at it, trying to peel it off. (Both of us feel like there is a big weight on our fingers from the polish.) But a pedicure -hmmmm -I'd never bothered with anything like that but this summer, one day, I allowed Maya to paint my toenails. She had so much fun doing my nails in a "pattern" (as she called it when she did every other nail in a different color) and it actually lasted quite a long time too. I can't do that myself as I can't bend over and reach some of the nails there but it was fun to let her play and experiment a bit even if some of her painting wasn't completely "Within the lines" ya know!

This is why I pay people for my pedicure!

I'm too fluffy now to do that now. I get a pedicure every six weeks.

Nicely done. I never wear any, myself. I'm so.. unpolished.

You mean your guy isn't falling over himself to paint your toe nails??? I find that incredibly sexy.

Lovely, and all so true! I need one, too, and should hide my feet until the pedigods smile on me.

Ha! Your photo credit cracked me up!!!

Nice job on your left foot. Hope your back and head mend so you can tackle the right one.

Cheers from NYC. jj

So that is how it is done! Backbreaking, though worth it in the end.

It's a struggle for me to just clip my nails. Thank god I don't have to paint them too. Seriously, does anybody really notice?

Pumpkin for fall.
You are brilliant.
I try to finagle $25 out of my sweet Gary when I need one. I am a terror at that second coat : )

You inspired me today.
Off I go for a pedicure!
Happy Friday friend!

Oh girl, your tootsies are soooo pretty!!! I so mine every Friday evening...I'm such a creature of habit.

I just wanted to let you know I'm back from Brownsville from spendin' time with my Daddy who lost his almost three decade battle with leukemia last Wed. evening. I've been MIA in the Blog world.

Ya'll have a magnificently bless weekend sweetie!!!

Now that's what I call Fancy Footwork! And I do know one thing, if your feet are happy, the rest of you is sure to follow. Love your flower power flip-flops too.

I need to just go get a professional pedicure. It sucks trying to do it yourself when you are pregnant.

I've heard of Popsicle Toes before see Michael Franks' tune : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VGZ6M6t4vA

But haven't ever come across pumpkin toes... guess there's a first time for everything. Although it's a hard story, I really liked your piece just below about your daughter. Wow ! That school sounds like bad news.

I cannot relate to this one... but looks good!

Ah. A problem I'm glad I don't have. I clip mine every so often. Done ;-)

My back goes out too easily, anyway.
