Paying Sincere Respect To Another Blogger

There is a blog called Professor B Worm. The writer of that blog is Charlie.

Charlie has written a few posts that moved me to tears and that helped me face my own childhood trauma more honestly and easily. I say easily because by reading some things that Charlie wrote from his heart, I would have to remind myself to breathe and that this was someone else writing, not me. So as I would read some of his writing, I could understand his way of working on his personal recovery and it was a good example to me.

Blogs are written for so many reasons. I believe that when someone writes a post that obviously came from the depths of their soul, and some people read that post and gain something from it, then the pain it took to write the post was a good thing. Good for the writer to aid in healing and good for the reader if it is therapeutic.

Not many books or blogs reach my inner being and grab hold. This post did that to me.
My Hubby says that it is because Charlie is such an excellent writer. That is true, he is. Beyond that, if you really read every word, the outcome is restorative. It takes so much strength of character to write deep down honest truth. When someone opens up to others this way they are to be respected. Honesty is seldom important in big business or corporations or politics and sometimes in families. I have to speak up here and say that honesty to me is welcome, necessary, and respected. Please tell me what you think of this post at Professor B Worm.

Hi, it has been some time since I have had the time to visit you and I must say I’m so happy to be back. I read the post and was sad. I cannot help but feel some of the desperation that the writer must have gone through to write something like this.

thanks techno...it was a great post and thanks for sharing those that touched you, it did i as well...

I agree with your hubby. I have described the post as devastating - and, yes, it's the situation that is devastating, but a lesser writer might have lost the devastation. He has not.

Ok. I am going to save it for a day when I need something deep and contemplative. Thank you : )
I love a good writer. That is why I come here.

I'm sitting here at 5:48 a.m., staring at this blank box, and I can't think of any words—even though I know quite a few of them.

For those of us who believe we have a soul, I believe it speaks to us—the trick is to listen and think about what it is telling us. It may not be pretty and many people repress what they hear because of fear, but it is necessary for change and moving forward, hopefully to happiness.

I guess I found some words after all. Thank you, TechnoBabe, from my soul to yours.

Charlie

I think I had forgotten this...thanks, TechnoBabe.

Dear Sweet CiCi, I did click on his post but could not read further than the warning on the post. I also am prone to suffer panic attacks, today is a busy day for me and I cannot risk having a PA...he said in the warning that it would be graphic and could cause a PA so I had to jump back over to your post..... therefore I could not read it... xoxo

About Joan and computer. Simple answer is no. She is getting very frail also mentally frail now... and she is beginning to get very forgetful. She is putting on a very good "front" but it takes her some effort to do so. I can see it. It is a very good thing she is moving soon. She has a Guardian Angel I am sure of it. I fear she is in early dementia and her children and I believe she will need more assisted care once she arrives at her new home in CA. so I will write her letters which she loves. She is also a great letter writer. xoxoxo

So hard to read, but very honest and real. It did come from the depths of his soul. What a writer he is.

It is an awesome post. Thanks for sharing the link. His story includes elements that so many of us share. It is the common glue of alcoholism that binds us.

Your husband is right - Charlie is a good writer but more importantly (to me)there is an essential goodness and honesty which is heart warning. It makes one want to return whenever he does a post to get one's vitamin C(for Charlie) to help one through the week.

I think that blogging is great therapy - much better than shrinks and happy pills!

the comments I get from charlie are some of the best. Of course I enjoy comments from everyone and yours are top notch too. But I know Charlie has made the connection to my post when he shares his thought.

That post of his was very moving and teaching of life.

He is an excellent writer indeed.

I am lucky not to have had to deal with a situation as he described

Wow. I agree. Charlie has made me understand better than I ever have, despite growing up with an alcoholic father and having once been married to one. My present husband's mother and siblings were/are also alcoholics. I have never really subscribed to the "disease" theory, but as a non-drinker, I discounted my own views on this because I thought I had no right to them.

I would have left him an admiring comment except that my latest post is a silly rant about wanting to get into rehab because I need a vacation, which could be taken as trivializing addiction although I certainly didn't mean it that way.

Charlie is an excellent writer! I'll be back to read his posts again, so thank you, Babe.

Oh my gracious. I came here by way of Ronda's blog and this post jut happened to be the first I read. You made Charlie's story sound so intriguing I went straight there and read the post. Now I am boo-hoo bawling. I should've heeded that warning he had in there. Sure, I've suffered from panic disorder for years, but I've not had an attack in so long. I'll be fine. That's what I thought. It could just be that, as you said, he spills the truth so thoroughly that touched me, but no, I don't think that's all there is to it. I can relate to so much of what he said.
And I need to get over there and say this I suppose. I only meant to tell you hello and thank you. :)

I read the post before coming here. I read it about 20 minutes ago and I am still crying. I don't know if I can really express how freeing it is to witness someone being so honest without shame. It is liberating and a gift.

Raw emotion stirs the soul like nothing else.
My personal feeling is that it is a gift to be able to get in touch with inner feelings and a gift to be able to express them.
Thanks for the link.
All the best,

He sounds like a guy I would love to know. Such strength, getting through all that. I was moved by his story about the unknown woman who reached out to him; such a simple act, and yet so very profound. Awesome.

You are so right. The post is amazing, and he is an excellent writer. I think it is awesome how many people he is helping with his words. What strikes me most about the account is how he came to the conclusion that he had to forgive himself in order to move forward. What a wonderful post. Thank you very much for sharing it with us here.

I read this, and the link.
and had to process it for a while. I'll leave him a comment. It stuns me still, this childhood stuff.

I want you to know that you are so so appreciated for your grace. You respect the soul of others in a way that shows your beautiful one. I do so know you are loved loved loved IRL as you are in blog land.
