Two Packages In The Mail

Badass Geek had a fun little contest that I participated in and was one of the lucky blogs to win a Badass Geek pin. My pin arrived in the mail today and I put it on my sweatshirt as soon as I opened the package. Thank you to Badass Geek and The Boss for the pin. My pin is one of the eye heart Badass Geek pins.

Also, in today's mail, I received a book from Lou at Subdural Flow. The title of the book is This Is Not The Life I Ordered--50 Ways to keep your head above water when life keeps dragging you down, by four women: Deborah Collins Stephens, Jackie Speier, Jan Yanehiro and Michealene Cristini Risley. I read the Contents, Acknowledgments, Introductions, and Preface right away, and will begin reading the book tomorrow.
Thank you, Lou!

well, I guess it's safe to say that the blogosphere is really adding substance to your life. Awesome! And I would like to know about the book, too.

How fun! I love getting prizes in the mail. From what I know, I'd guess a book is the perfect prize for you. :)

BTW, I had never heard of a bakery van before, either. I thought you were blogging about it because it was so unusual. But I do remember ice cream trucks.

And, yes, I love donuts and cupcakes and cakes and danish. Especially cupcakes. And donuts. And... lol

The pin is fun and the book sounds interesting. I missed out on being able to order a life, but I probably would have ordered wrong anyway. I'll be interested to hear what you think about the book.

Congrats on the pin and the book too. I'll have to pass the title of the book along to my daughter Mandy and maybe she can pick up a copy next time she visits Barnes & noble.

Ooh, big yummy mail day. Thank you for telling us about this book, which sounds great. I heart Badass Geek, too.

We probably all get the life we ordered to learn the lessons we need to learn. That's my philosophical Buddhist la-la take on it. My other take is that sometimes, life sucks and I want a do-over.
